In the weeks before the premier of the sixth season of Mad Men on AMC, Jon Hamm, who plays the show’s protagonist, Don Draper, has been getting an increasing amount of press after it was reported that that his producers had asked him to start wearing underwear on the set. They claim that Hamm’s crotch has been distracting the crew and displaying too much information about his "impressive anatomy" in the tight pants that the show’s setting of the 1960s requires, according to an insider, who told New York Daily News that the marketing team with AMC has had to Photoshop images of Hamm to make his "private parts more, well, private."

Hamm’s package has been getting a lot of attention in the gossip columns because he frequently appears to be "going commando," and numerous photos have appeared on the web displaying his significant bulge.

Several men’s underwear companies have been attempting to capitalize on the press by offering Hamm free underwear. According to E!News, Jockey has offered to help Hamm to keep things a little more concealed: "Jockey would like to offer our support for Jon Hamm in the form of a lifetime supply of Jockey underwear."

However, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Hamm says that he is pretty much over the attention. "They're called 'privates' for a reason," he said. "I'm wearing pants, for fuck's sake.
