Unless your drawer is full of white cotton briefs worn out to varying degrees, then you have probably come across the problem of how to organize it all, so that you find what you’re looking for every time. Below you will find some tips on how to do so on budget and in about an hour, even if your undies drawer is a huge mess. 1. Toss the Old and Never Worn Ideally, you should go through your underwear drawer and toss out all the old and funky undies about once a year. I know it’s hard to let go sometimes, but you need to get rid of the old to let in the new. So before you start your organizing efforts, first get rid of all the old undies, such as those that have lost their color through too many washes, whose waistband won’t stay up anymore, and those that have holes. Since you’re going through the collection, also consider getting rid of all the pairs of underwear that you never wear. 2. Organize by Cut This tip applies if you have more than one style of underwear in your undies drawer. So, start by separating into different piles all the briefs, as well as all the trunks, jocks and boxers, or whatever else kind of cut you have in your collection. The cheapest way to do this is by placing old shoeboxes in the drawer and filling each of them with a certain style. You can also buy special drawer separators in most furniture stores, which are created exactly for this purpose. This way there will be no need to ruffle through everything and making a mess each time you’re looking for a specific pair of undies. 3. Organize by Color This applies if you own multi-colored underwear. The old shoeboxes once again come in handy here, since you can also use them to separate the underwear by color. For example, you can put all the black undies in one, the white in another, and the colored stuff in a third. This way of organizing the drawer will also save you the messy drawer on those mornings when you’re in a hurry and have to search for that certain pair of underwear. 4. Make it Neat Following the above tips will already make your undies drawer pretty neat, but why not go a step further and fold everything up nicely. True, most pairs of underwear will not get all wrinkly, but if you just roll them up in a ball and toss them in the drawer they won’t be neat either. And nothing signifies a slob as much as unkempt underwear does. By following the above tips you’re underwear drawer should look spick and span. Then all that’s left is to keep it that way. When next you’re doing your laundry, make sure to fold everything and place it back in its designated spot and pretty soon it will all become a lifelong habit.
