Jockey was not commonly known as Jokey when it was founded. In fact, Jokey, when founded in 1876 by Samuel T. Cooper, originally coined the name Coopers, by Coopers Inc. The company sold the world’s first brief during mid January, 1935. This was known as the Y-front brief and was one of the biggest innovations that were ever made by Jockey (then Coopers Inc.). This was now known as the jockey. Finally, the company got the name that it would be known for the next couple of decades.
